I’m 6‘3“ and I found the adjustable length handle to be of sufficient length for me to use the tool without having to bend over.The magnet is as strong as advertised. They claim it can pick up 16 pounds, along with the caveat “Note: the magnetic force is related to the contact surface and material of the object.” In other words, the magnet will not pick up a very heavy object if the object doesn’t have a large enough flat surface area that can come into contact with a large portion of the magnet.For example, when I tested the magnet on my steel weightlifting plates, it was able to easily lift the 10 pound plates because they have a nice flat surface area that made full contact with the magnet. It wasn’t quite powerful enough to lift a 25 pound plate (pretty close though).I also tested the magnet’s strength on some steel shotputs of various weights that I have (16, 12, 8, and 6 pound). As expected, it was unable to pick up any of them due to the very small surface area of spheres that can come into contact with a flat magnet.For practical usage, though, this magnet is plenty powerful. It easily picks up bolts, nails, and steel shavings.I really like the portability of the magnet, and that its smaller size allows me to reach into smaller areas. I can also use it very closely along a wall, and I can press it closely to the ground. The larger wheeled magnet tools cannot do that.I was able to find many nails that were still on the ground after a roofing job that the wheeled magnet tools missed.This tool has really come in handy.
